Function Comparison Between Dimmers For Vision X Lights

Question:

So, the manual switch controlled harness supplies the initial power supply to the lights Vision X Optimus Round Prime Led Lights - 10w - Narrow Spot and the dimmer basically a rheostat controls ONLY the LED output? The reason I ask, being that the dimmer control wire is only a 16 or 18 ga. wire, compared to the harness wiring, which is more like 14 ga. with 30 amp inline fuses for switch lead and relay lead. I noticed in the push button dimmer QandA, the reply was to replace the factory toggle switch with the 3 function dimmer switch on/off/dim

The # XIL-PDIMMER is just as you said. It is simply allowing you to dim the Vision X lights you have attached to it. A nice feature with using the Vision X dimmer is that installation of your lights is much simpler with the specific connectors.

I also noticed that the dimmer used 18 gauge wire for its installation. Since LED lights do not require nearly as much current to work, the gauge wire they can use is significantly smaller.

We also offer another switch, part # PDIMMERBUTTON. This is a push button unit that controls the lights with 3 settings, full brightness, 50 percent brightness, and off. This unit does replace the on/off unit on the light.

I like the idea of being able to control the amount of brightness with the # XIL-PDIMMER.
