Troubleshooting LED Lights On Cargo Trailer  

Question:

I installed led lights on the top of my interstate cargo trailer they are working fine but my right and left turn lights blink when I use them. I hooked them up to my wifes 2013 chevy traverse. when I hook my truck up the led lights dont work but the right and left turn lights work fine my truck is a2006 chevy silverrodo what am I doing wrong

The first thing you will want to do is to check all of the ground connections on the trailer. Each of the lights should be grounded to a clean, bare metal surface.

If the ground wires all check out, you can start by checking the trailer connector on the vehicles. Have someone sit in the front of the vehicle and test each pin by function on the wiring harness with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.

If all of the pins on the vehicle check out, test the wires leading to the lights. If you find that they are not receiving the signal you will want to check the trailer wiring for any signs of damage or breaks in the wiring. If you find no problems with the wires on the trailer, the lights may be bad and will need to be replaced.
