Can Saris Hatch Huggers Be Used with Curt Stabilizer Strap for Supporting a Bike Rack on Hitch  

Question:

I have a 2015 crv with a Curt class 3 hitch. I am getting a swagman xtc-2 bike rack. I understand that with the Curt I have to use a support strap when carrying the bikes. I was wondering if I could attach the saris hitch huggers to the lower loop part of the Curt strap and secure it to the inside of my vehicletop hatch. I am just concerned if I secure the j hook to the outside of my hatch it may bend the metal or warp the hatch door .

You certainly could use the hatch huggers part # SA3035 with the stabilizer strap part # 18050 to stabilizer the Swagman XTC2 # S64670 on your 2015 Honda CR-V with a Class III Curt hitch like part # C13119.

Curt only says you have to use a stabilizer strap. They do not say that it has to be the # 18050. Your method should work great.
