Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek
Question:
I am interested in a trailer hitch for a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. I have no intention of towing, my primary purpose it to carry my bicycle without having to constantly put the rear seats up and down. I have not looked into bike racks yet but wanted some guidance.

For a trailer hitch I would recommend the Curt Hitch part # C13135 as this is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening. Class III hitches have more accessories available for them and have higher capacities than Class II or Class I so when available I always recommend Class III hitches.
The Swagman XTC2, part # S64670 is one of the most popular racks because it's so easy to use, and because the rack has an angled shank that would raise the bike rack up by three inches providing additional ground clearance. Because of that, this is the rack I'd recommend for you. The rack includes an anti-rattle hitch bolt, but a combination anti-rattle hitch lock/cable lock is available separately as part # S64031.
