Electric Trailer Brake Assembly with 6-Bolt Mounting Pattern for 1960 Airstream Tradewind Trailer

Question:

I have a 1960 airstream tradewind that has a six bolt pattern. Do you have electric brake kits for that? TY

Some of the older Airstream trailers used unique proprietary components, including brakes. We do not carry any 6-bolt brake assemblies; but we have 4-, 5- and 7-bolt types that can be seen on the link provided, such as Dexter 12-1/4 x 3-3/8-inch brake # 23-450 and # 23-451, which can use a 5- or 7-bolt mount.

You will need to first confirm the axle capacity and the diameter and width of your drums to check for a suitable brake. You may be able to find a compatible brake assembly but odds are that you will be better off replacing your axle with a new one that uses a modern mounting pattern for which there will be plenty of options readily available now and in the future.

We do offer complete axle/hub/brake assemblies up to a 3500-lb rating; please click on the link provided. For example, kit # e43SR is a complete axle/hub/brake assembly that includes bearings, races, seals, grease caps, wheel studs, lug nuts, and marine-grade wheel bearing grease. This hub has a 5-on-4-1/2-inch wheel bolt pattern.
