If you want a suspension helper spring kit that avoids the complication of air springs, then I suggest a rubber jounce spring kit from Timbren. We offer both front- and rear-axle kits for your 2006 Silverado 3500 2WD flat bed work truck.
The rear axle kit I recommend is the Timbren # TGMRTT35C which is intended for heavy-duty vehicles. This is a bolt-on kit that requires no drilling. If you want a front-axle kit I suggest Timbren # TGMFK25S, also a no-drill install.
The linked article will give you good background on Timbren products and how they work. Do note that a suspension helper spring kit does not increase your truck's weight capacity.
