How to Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer with a 2011 Ram 1500 with 5-1/2 foot bed

HI I have 2011 ram1500 sport crewcab 5.7hemi and 5.7foot short bed I need 5th wheel hitch Im looking for 5th wheel hitch for my truck I live in canada bc. which on should I buy please let me know ASAP thanks.

Since you have such a short bed on your 2011 Ram 1500 (5-1/2 foot) your only option for towing a fifth wheel trailer will be to replace your current pin box with a Sidewinder pin box so that you would have enough clearance to make tight turns.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.

Now for a rail kit you will want a semi-custom kit like the part # RP30035-386 and a stationary hitch.

For the hitch I would recommend the # RP30047 as this has an excellent jaw system that will provide a smooth ride quality and will work well with the Sidewinder.
