Recommended 3 Bike Carrier For 2012 Honda CR-V
Question:
Hi, I have a 2012 Honda CR-V and we need to purchase a bike rack for 3 bikes - childrens 18inch bike, womens hybrid comfort bike and a mens TREK mte. bike. My car does not appear to have a trailer hitch. I can only see the metal loop underneath, which I believe is used for delivering the vehicles from the manufacturer? What types of carriers are open to us without a hitch or do I have to actually install a hitch? Its important to me to have a good bike rack, that is quiet, reliable, will allow us to get into the back and not cause any scratches on our bikes, and, most importantly, the vehicle. Thanks for your help.

You shouldn't have to install a trailer hitch to carry your three bikes as long as your bikes are 35 lbs or less each. I recommend going with the Hollywood Racks Trunk Bike Rack # HRF2-3. When installed properly this bike rack is designed not leave any scratches on your bikes.
I have included a link to a video that shows how it works.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
