How to Install Trailer Wiring Harness on 2014 Hyundai Elantra Sedan
Question:
I have a 2014 Hyundai Elantra 4 dr sedan that I want to wire for towing. I was told to get the tow ready 119180. the instructions that came with the kit do not give me much information. I am looking for instructions on how to wire my car with this kit.

Hardwiring your 2014 Hyundai Elantra with the # C59496 trailer wiring harness will involve tapping into the circuits feeding your taillights and using a circuit tester included in the kit to determine which wires are your turn signals, running lights and brake lights. Once you determine the functions, you will want to run the harness's yellow wire to the left turn signal circuit, the brown wire to the running light circuit, the red wire to the brake lamp circuit, and the green wire the right turn signal circuit.
For an easier to install plug and play solution that does not require splicing into your vehicle's wiring check out the custom wiring harness # 118532. I have linked to an installation video of this harness being installed on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra.
