Roller Bunks to Replace 8 Foot Long Wooden Bunks on a Boat Trailer

Question:

I need to replace the bunks on the trailer that carries this boat. It has currently 4x8 wood bunks. What would you recommend as far as replacing the wood bunks?

You have a couple of options. First, you could leave your 8-foot long wooden bunks in place and attach roller bunks, # DL21740, for two 4-foot long sections (so you'd need 2 sets total) directly to the wooden bunks.

Of you could remove the bunks and use bracket kit # DL21742 attached to the boat trailer frame and the roller bunks. You would need 2 bracket kits.

The 4-foot long roller bunks are rated for 2,500 pounds per set.
