How to Activate the 12 Volt Power Circuit of a 7-Way at the Rear of a Vehicle
Question:
Hello, I need to buy all the materials to supply power from my 2008 Rav4 to my trailer. The trailer has the 7 way round hookup though. Can you help me figure out what products I need to purchase from you? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
If you have a 7-way at the rear of your 2008 Toyota RAV4 this would provide you with a way to supply 12 volt power to your trailer through the 12 volt power circuit. The pin in the 1:00 position should have 12 volts at all times as long as the 7-way is wired up properly.
If this pin does not have voltage you can run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot), from the positive post of your battery to that pin on your 7-way through a 40 amp breaker like part # 9510.
