In order to actuate the brakes on your trailer, you'll need to install a brake controller. Since your RV on the Ford Van cutaway chassis doesn't already have a trailer connector, it is not pre-wired. You'll need to hardwire the controller using our brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7.
The kit contains just about everything needed to install a brake controller, including a 7-way trailer connector adapter, but you'll need to install a functional 4-pole trailer connector on the vehicle, like part # 18252. The kit is designed for a regular passenger vehicle, so you'll also need some extra wire which is sold by the foot as part # 10-2-1.
If you don't already have a brake controller, I'd recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is very easy to use, which is why it's been one of our best selling brake controllers for years.
I'll link you to the installation instructions for the install kit, as well as to an install video.
