Will the 2-Piece Polypropylene Trailer Vent HMAV2-AVT2 Allow Water Intrusion
Question:
On the exterior piece, there is the cradle/baffle that the vent tube fits into. When you cut the interior piece for a thin wall installation, how close should the interior piece tube be to the inside face of the outer piece to insure maximum venting with minimal water intrusion?

As long as you use sealant like the part # 0160297 when installing the vent part # HMAV2-AVT2 on your trailer and have the opening facing down you should not have to worry about water intrusion.
I would recommend trimming the inner piece down short enough that when installed on your trailer it just barely inserts into the exterior piece so that you maximize air flow.
