Adapter Recommendation for an RV with Separate Wiring to Tow Combined Trailer Wiring

Question:

Hello, I have a 2000 Monaco motorhome with six wires coming down to its plug which I have taken off and cant remember what it was but I think it was a rectangular plug. I wired a round 6 post receptical with a flat four round adapter and have lights for running and turning but no stop lights. It has a red, yellow, green, brown, white and grey wires going to it. I am pretty sure the RV has separate brake lights so that is probably why no brake lights on the trailer. I was hoping you sell something I can wire into the RV wires so I can use the 4 flat plug from the trailer and have all the lights working brake, turn, and running thanks for any help.

We have exactly what you need. This is a fairly common situation as most RV's are wired for separate taillights and most trailers are wired for combined trailer wiring circuits.

For that you will want the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Converter # RM-732 and 4-way like part # 18002.

First you will need to cut off the 4-way on your RV. Next, you will need to wire up the # RM-732 as follows.

Green of the motorhome runs to the white of the converter.
Red runs to red.
Blue from motorhome runs to the green of the converter.
Orange from motorhome runs to the yellow of the converter

Brown from the motorhome runs to the brown of the # 18002
Yellow on the output side of the converter will run to the yellow of the #18002
Green on the output side of the converter will run to the green of the # 18002
White will need to be grounded.
