As long as your 2000 Ford Mustang is not a Cobra SVT the most cost effective base plates are going to be Blue Ox # BX2159.
And for your 2007 Saturn Aura you can use # BX3329 (fits all models including hybrids).
For an inexpensive tow bar that will work with both base plate sets you can use the Adventurer, # BX7322. It is rated for 5,000 pounds. It does not include safety cables so you will need to add some separately, # BX88196.
You will also need lighting for each vehicle. The easiest solution is going to be a magnetic kit such as # RM-2120. These light kits are inexpensive and you would need just one kit to switch between the two vehicles. It looks like fuses have to be pulled to tow the Aura. Consult the vehicle owners manual to confirm. To make this as easy as flipping a switch you can use fuse bypass # RM76511.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Patriot proportional system # BLU37TR. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manuals for specific information on flat towing the vehicles. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
