If you use a 4- to 7-Way adapter, such as # 37185, then you will just have the lighting functions on the trailer (minus reverse lights). On the adapter, you will have to ground the white wire to the vehicle frame, otherwise it will not work.

The blue wire is for electric brakes which you said you do not need. The black wire is for 12 volt power if the trailer uses any. If those functions are not needed you can just cap off those wires and stow them out of the way.

The last wire would be for reverse lights, usually not seen on trailers. But if you need them then you would need to locate a reverse light wire behind one of the reverse light bulbs, and tap into it there.
