How to Install a Tekonsha P2 on a 2005 GMC Yukon Denali
Question:
Im trying to figure out how to hook up the Tekonsha P2 brake controller that I just purchased from you for my 2005 GMC Yukon Denali. The attached picture shows what is already wired under the dash. The wires go straight into the bundle under the dash and are not spliced into the wires you see in the picture. The colors are purple, red, black w/white and black. As you can see the plug can accommodate 16 wires, but only 4 are in use, so Im assuming this was for a previously installed brake controller I bought the vehicle used. I need to know how to match up the wires to the P2. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

The connector you found is not for brake controller installation. That looks like an OBDII connector.
You will want to look down below that for a black box just below that. The # 3015-P will plug into a port in that junction box. The top row, second from the left is the correct port to use.
Check out the install video and help article I attached as well.
