Can the Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18145 be Used in a Class I Hitch
Question:
I checked with he manufacturer of the Curt # C18145 and they indicated that since the product did not specify class I or II but was for 1 1/4 receiver, it was suitable for either class. Online you have it has being class II only. Have you had an experience with this carrier that indicates I should not purchase for a class I 1 1/4 receiver? I am looking at a Surco model as well but was interested in this one as it appears to have a rise from the tongue. I am putting on a 2015 Murano and I was concerned that the location of the duel exhaust might necessitate having the cargo carrier as high as possible to avoid heat affecting items I carry.

I spoke to my contact atCurtand he confirmed for me that the # C18145 can technically be used in a Class I hitch, but was intended to be used in a Class II hitch.
Most likely the hitch you have on your 2015 Nissan Murano is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening though and you would want a cargo carrier like the # 63153 instead.
