Easy to Load Bike Rack that will Fit a 2001 Dodge Intrepid with a Class II 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch

Question:

What kind of bike rack would you recomment for an 01 intrepid, Have a sentry rack now - with my limitations find I have to lift the bikes up high too much & it is difficult for me at my age. I also feel they ride high on the car. A bit unnerving as I drive. Help. Thanks.

For your 2001 Dodge Intrepid, I recommend the Swagman XTC-2, # S64670. This is a 2 bike platform rack that is easier to load than 2 or 1 arm racks. Also, the rack secures the bike in three places to ensure they are secured safely. The rack holds the bike at both wheels with rubber straps and at the frame with an easy to use, ratcheting frame hook. The hook has a soft coating so they will not damage your bikes.

Because of the wheel mount and frame hook design, the rack can handle many different styles of bikes. The wheel mounts are adjustable to accommodate wheelbases up to 66 inches (center of the front wheel to the center of the back wheel). The arms can be fold up for easy storage when not in use.

To add even more security, you can add the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Hitch Racks, # S64029. This lock and anti-rattle device was designed to fit Swagman bike racks. The anti-rattle device will prevent unwanted movement of your bike rack. The lock will help deter theft.
