Can Sealed 4 Round LED Trailer Light # STL43RB Be Used Underwater in Saltwater Environment
Question:
The manufacturer of the bullet proof salt water fishing boat trailer lights was bought out by Westbar who subsequently quit making the only light I ever found that would really work reliably in the constant in and out of salt water service my boat trailer gets. I am looking for a replacement manufacturer that actually makes a lite that works well underwater for a long time. Will you STL43RB work underwater in a saltwater environment or fail in a year of less?

I spoke with my contact at Optronics and in order to use the Sealed, 4" Round LED Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, # STL43RB, in the saltwater environment, you will want to use marine grease like part # L54FR on the Straight 3-Wire Pigtail Plug, # A45PB, and then seal around the plug with a silicone sealant like part # 0160297. This will help to prevent any water from getting into the light housing during the constant in and out of saltwater service that your boat gets.
