Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller # 90195 and Wiring Adapter # 3040-P for 2008 Toyota Tundra
Question:
Hi, i am in need of a trailer brake controller product. i have a 2008 Toyota Tundra with tow package. i am interested in Part Numbers: 90195,3040-P, my question is in the picture provided one end of the harness has a plug and the other has wires ready to splice, not a true plug and play like advertised. so are the two items put together a true plug and play combo? Without having to splice and crimp wires together? thanks.

I think I know what happened...the # 3040-P brake controller wiring adapter does have a plug on both ends, making it truly a plug and play install, but the plug on one end is white which kind of blends into the background when we took the photo. It does look like there isn't a plug on one end, but I promise you there is. Click on the link provided for the # 3040-P, and click on some of the other thumbnail photos and you'll see that there is indeed a plug on the other end.
The Tekonsha P3 you referenced is an excellent choice. My favorite feature of the controller is the display which allows you to see the real-time status of your trailer braking system. Should any problems develop, the diagnostic function will spell the problem out in plain English (or in Spanish or French if you prefer) instead of using an error code you'll need to look up. In the instructions. If you can find them.
I've linked you to an install video showing the P3 being installed in a 2013 Tundra. The procedure would be identical for your 2008 model.
