Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Honda Fit LX

Question:

I just purchased a 2015 Honda Fit LX Manual. I am a cyclist. Because of the hatch back I need a tow bar to hold a bike rack. Honda states none has been designed the 2015 Fit. But you offer a bolt on stating its for the 2015 fit. Will it fit the 2015 fit. And since it is bolted and not welded could it vibrate lose and the rack with my bike coming off on the highway? I didnt think about the bike mount when I purchase the car.

We do offer three brands of light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I trailer hitch for your 2015 Honda Fit LX and all can be seen on the link provided. I suggest the first one shown, Draw-Tite # 24920, since it has the same capacity as the others but costs less.

Most trailer hitches do bolt on rather than weld into place and when installed correctly as per the manufacturer's instructions they will be secure. It is important to install the included fasteners to the right torque (tightness) by using a tool called a torque wrench which is widely available at hardware and tool stores. If installed according to the instructions the hitch will be quite secure and you need not worry.

A Class I hitch can carry up to 2 bikes on a compatible Class I bike rack. The link provided will show you all 2-bike Class I racks we offer and these include both hanging- and platform-styles. There are filters on the page to allow you to sort the results based on your preferences, for example, by brand, type of rack (tilting, folding or fixed), by how it holds the bikes (wheel or frame) and whether you want the rack to include locks.

You can review the linked articles on hitch racks to help you decide which will best work with your particular type of bike.

An outstanding example of a hanging-style carrier is Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, Tilting
Carrier Item # S63400. This sturdy carrier features advanced cradles to gently support your bike. Please refer to the linked video for more about this rack.

If your bike has a step-through frame you might consider an adapter bar like # TH982XT, shown in the linked video, that keeps such bikes level on the carrier for safer ground clearance.

If you care to let me know something about your bike(s) and preferences I will be glad to offer additional recommendations.
