Troubleshooting Blinkers that Only Work when Headlights are On After LED Install
Question:
I install led bulbs in and now my turn signals only work when I turn the head lights on. What did I do wrong?

Sounds like you need to install a load resistor on the circuits that carry the turn signals. I am not completely sure what circuits you installed the LEDs on but it sounds like the turn signals so you would need load resistors like part # DI34ZR for a pair. One of these needs to be installed on every circuit that has a blinker or flasher.
I attached a picture that shows how it will install on your circuits.
