How to Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer with a 2013 Toyota Tundra with a 5-1/2 ft Bed

Question:

I have a fifth wheel model RP30047 and just got a 2013 Toyota Tundra CrewMax and was curious if that would fit in that truck?

I have a solution that will allow you to tow a fifth wheel with your 2013 Toyota Tundra Crewmax, but since you have a 5-1/2 foot bed a slider hitch wouldn't give you enough clearance to make tight turns. Instead you will need a Sidewinder pin box replacement for the trailer you plan to tow and will be able to use your slider hitch part # RP30051 but it will have to remain in the forward most position. If you didn't have a hitch a stationary hitch like part # RP30047 would be a better choice.

You will need to remove the pin box of the trailer and replace it with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.

For a fifth wheel rail kit for your vehicle you will want the Custon Rail Kit part # RP50084-58 as it will install in half the time as a custom kit and will minimize drilling.
