Tire Replacement Recommendation for a Motorcycle Trailer with 4.80-12 Tires
Question:
I am looking for a replacement tire for my motorcycle cargo trailer. it weights 225# empty with 400# cargo limit. the tires that are on it are 4.8 - 12. I am looking for a replacement suggestion that can handle up to 80 MPH on the interstate. from what I can find online, the current ones are rated for 65 MPH. tire height and depth are concerns due to the fender that is over it. I am looking at a 900+ mile trip to Sturgis this year and I can do the entire trip on I90. WI is 65, MN is 70 and SD is 75. Just want to get there safely. thanks for the assistance.

We have a replacement tire that would work great to replace your current 4.80-12 wheel and tire, but nothing we offer in that size is rated for exceeding 65 miles per hour.
The part # AM10060 would work great as it is a 4.80-12 tire. This tire has a capacity of 785 lbs at 60 psi. It's important to always keep trailer tires inflated to their max psi as that will ensure you get the full capacity of the tire and will help prevent heat build up.
I attached a review video and a help article on trailer tires for you to check out as well.
