Installing a Prodigy RF Brake Controller on a 2006 BMW X5 without Factory 7-way Connector
Question:
Hi. I have a 2006 BMW X5 and I installed the hitch 87405 and the wiring kit 119250KIT . I intend to tow a Travel Trailer with electric brakes so I will need the brake controller 90250. What do I need to connect the wiring kit 119250KIT to the brake controller 90250? Thank you !

To install your Prodigy RF brake controller # TK94FR, you will need a 4-pole to 7-pole and 4-pole adapter # 37185.
You will need to hardwire a 12-volt power circuit using a breaker like # PK54540. The black wire provides 12-volt power to the trailer connector to feed your Prodigy RF brake controller. Use a butt connector like # 05732-2 to attach enough 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 to reach the positive battery terminal. Twenty feet of wire should suffice. The 40 AMP circuit breaker # PK54540 needs to be installed inline on this circuit. The Prodigy RF will need 12-volt circuit on a 7-way to work which is why you need the 10-gauge wire and circuit breaker.
I included a couple installation videos and a informative article for you to look at.
