4-Way to 7-Way Adapter Recommendation for a 2015 Equinox LTZ
Question:
I want to install a combination 4 pin and 7 pin trailer light plug on the rear of my 2015 Equinox. The Equinox has the 4pin wiring harness that comes with the factory tow package. I will not be using trailer brakes, I just want to use the 7 pin to match the plug that exist on my trailer and also have the 4 pin when needed for other equipment. The trailer I will be towing already has an existing male plug that connects correctly to my 2014 Silverado that has the factory towing package. The new 7 pin female plug end should be exactly the same as the one on the Silverado. I want the adapter to mount to the hitch or rear bumper in a way that looks good, similarly to the way it would look if mounted at the factory. If there is an adapter that would plug into the existing 4 pin that would allow the use of the 7 pin trailer wiring, that would also work. Please suggest what I need to purchase for this. Thanks!

We have exactly what you would need. For an adapter that would convert your 4-way to a 7-way for just controlling the taillight functions of the trailer you would want the part # 37185.
The current 4-way you have on your 2015 Chevy Equinox will plug right in to the 4-way of this adapter and it will be ready to go.
This comes with a bracket that will allow it to easily be mounted to your bumper.
Check out the install video I attached for more info as well.
