Turn Signal On 2012 Kia Sorrento SX Hyperflashing After Installing Wiring Trailer Harness

I installed a trailer wiring harness on a 2015 Kia Sorrento. I have not tried to hook up the trailer yet, but the left turn signal is now blinking twice as fast as it should. What is the problem? Thanks,

Sounds like you are experiencing what is termed 'Hyperflashing'.

My best recommendation is to remove the 4-way wiring harness and see if the problem still persists. If it does there is a problem in the vehicle wiring.

If the problem goes away, then the converter is probably bad and the harness needs to be replaced.

If you do find you need to replace it I recommend the Wiring, part # C59496. We have had good success with our customers that have used this kit. Please keep in mind that the kit you purchased and the # C59496 are designed to work with you vehicle if it does not have the factory tow package.

If you have the factory tow package on your Sorento I recommend the Curt Wiring Harness, part # C56332
. This is a much simpler installation that plugs in under the vehicle on the driver side with no cutting or splicing of the wiring.
