How to Wire Up the Hopkins Rear View Camera To Be On all the Time
Question:
Can I wire the back up wire, on the monitor, to the hot wire in the cigarette lighter plug along with the red power wire, so it will be on all the time? Thanks

In order to wire a backup camera to be on all of the time, you would have to wire it into the running light circuit instead of the reverse light circuit. This way, when you wanted it on, you would just turn the running lights on. This would be the easiest way to turn it off and on.
Or you could wire the camera to a 12 volt power source like the cigarette lighter circuit like you mentioned. This would make it turn on all the time. You could use a switch like part # D16740 so that you can turn it off and on at will.
