Brake Controller Recommendation For 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali
Question:
Hi, Id like to get a brake controller for my 2015 Sierra 1500 Denali. Id like something where I dont have to drill any holes in the cab, etc. Can you recommend a brake controller? I plan on getting a tandem, 2-axle. Thanks for your help.

Since brake controllers have manual override levers or switches The installation of the controller is critical so the override can be used if needed. I do not recommend trying to install a brake controller without installing the bracket securely so that the brake controller can be adjusted or used.
I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake Controller, part # 90885. This is a proportional controller that will work with electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes and can work with up to 4 axles. This our most popular because it is so easy to install and operate. This does require drilling 2 holes in the underside of the dash to mount the bracket. I have attached a link to an installation video for a brake controller on a 2012 Sierra you can check out. I do understand not wanting to drill holes in your new truck but as the video shows the holes are really not very big and as I mentioned they are on the underside of the dash.
I also recommend the Tekonsha Plug-In Adapter, part # 3016. This makes the installation of the controller much easier. Simply plug one end into the back of the brake controller and the other end into the built-in harness under the dash.
