How to Install Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 on a Dodge Ram with Square Connector
Question:
Hi, I received my smart hitch camera today that I ordered from you. I went to install it and on my 2005 ram 1500, the back of my factory 7 way is square not round. What do I need to do? I would prefer not to splice the wires if possible. Thank you!

What you will need to do is remove the factory 7-way and in it's place install the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install 7-Way # HM42190. This 7-way has a square connector that will plug into your vehicle's trailer wiring and then on the other end of the harness there is a round connector that the # HM50002 would be able to use for installation.
