Light Weight Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier for a 2013 Buick Enclave
Question:
I have a 2013 Buick Enclave and I am looking for a carrier to carry a couple of 6 gal. fuel cans or general cargo. Handling weight is a consideration as I am older man. Would appreicate your recommendation.

As far as weight aluminum cargo carriers will be much lighter than steel ones of the same size. I recommend going with an aluminum carrier for this reason and because they are corrosion resistant.
We have 2 aluminum cargo carriers and they are both rated for 500 pounds. Curt cargo carrier # C18100 is 19 inches front to back and 60 inches wide. It weighs about 30 pounds. It can also fold up. When in the folded up position it measures 5 inches from the center of the pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier. This is important because you need the carrier to clear the rear of the vehicle!
The second option is another Curt carrier # C18113. It measure 22-1/2 inches front to back and 49 inches across. It weighs about 25 pounds. It does not fold and measures 6 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier. I have linked video reviews of each carrier and also a link on measuring to make sure the carriers clear the rear bumper.
