Parts Needed to Convert 4-Way to 7-Way on a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport

Hello, My 2001 Ford Explorer Sport already have a flat 4-way connector. But its pretty beat up. I wonder if I can replace it with this 7-way connector? I have attached a photo of current part. Thanks

In order to convert the 4-way on your 2001 Ford Explorer to a 7-way you would want the part # 37185 if the trailers you plan to tow don't have brakes. Or, if they do have brakes you would instead want the part # ETBC7. I attached install links for you to check out as well.

It was hard to tell from the picture you sent me, but it looks like the part in the picture is a 7-way replacement connector designed to fit a vehicle that had a factory 7-way. Since your vehicle didn't have a factory 7-way this wouldn't be the correct kit for you.

If the trailers do have brakes and you need a brake controller for a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
