Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with Factory Tow Package

Question:

When searching your website by year and model, I was advised to get this harness, now Im reading that it will not work on a 14 Santa fe sport with tow package. I ordered this one based on your website. I was under the assumption that it was just plug and go, so its not and I have to run a power wire? What is different on a 13 versus a 12, what changed. Can I return it? Thanks

Curt trailer wiring harness # C56332 does fit a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with factory tow package. This harness does just plug into the factory port under the back of the vehicle. And you don't have to run a power wire at all. I have linked a video showing installation of this harness for you.

If your 2014 Santa Fe Sport does not have the factory tow package then you would need a different harness, # C56184 or # 118571 and these harnesses do require a power wire connected to the vehicle battery. This is because the tail light wiring on the vehicle cannot handle the power draw from the trailer lights so the vehicle battery powers the trailer lights. This also protects the vehicle wiring. Routing a power wire is not all that difficult, it just takes a little longer to install. I have linked a help article with tips on routing power wires.
