Sway Control Recommendation for a 2012 Ford F150 4WD

Question:

I have a 2012 Ford F150 4WD. The GVWR is 7450 with a max payload of approximately 1,770 pounds. The vehicle carries a slide in popup camper which weighs approximately 1,000 pounds. Im wondering if it would be beneficial to add either a anti-sway bar and/or aftermarket shocks. Which one would be the most beneficial? I dont experience any major issues now but we have very windy conditions at times here in Wyoming. Your suggestions are appreciated.

With as light of a trailer as you have I would be surprised if sway became an issue for you. The best defense against sway is proper trailer loading though. If you can load as much weight of your trailer as far forward as possible the likelihood of sway occurring will be even less.

If you did want to run a friction sway control system you would first want the sway control adapter part # RP26003. Then for a sway control unit you would want the # 83660.
