How to Install a Prodigy P3 Brake Controller in a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer with Factory 4-Way
Question:
My 2004 Mountaineer is equipped with the 4 way connector and the small hitch from the factory. What would I need to convert to the round 7 way plug to utilize electric brakes on trailer? What wiring would I have to install if any on Mountaineer to supply voltage for brakes to trailer? Im ordering Controller Prodigy P3 #90195, 3035P with adapter pug in harness. I want to order all I need at the same time. Thanks,

To install the Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 in your 2004 Mercury Mountaineer all you need is the 7-way adapter part # 37185, and the plug in adapter part # 3035-P.
The plug in adapter will plug into the port under your dash, and then to complete the install you will run the wires from the frame rail of your vehicle to the # 37185 and you will be good to go. To see how this install is completed check out the install video and FAQ article I attached that details the installation.
You may also need # 10-2-1 sold by the foot to go from the 7-way to the wires on the frame.
