Raising the Height of a Carry On Trailer with Slipper Spring Suspension

Question:

Good Day Sir/Maam, I have a small project that I am in the planning stages of I have a Carry On 4X7foot trailer, It is rated for around 1800lbs. I am wanting to do an axle under the leaf swap, I know the dexter kit seems to be the best choice, however the leaf spring on my trailer appears to me be a single eye spring. What can you suggest?

Helpful Expert Reply:

If your leaf springs are slipper springs, such as # WIH4, then you will not be able to use a Dexter over/under conversion kit, # K71-384-00. What you would have to do is cut off the hangers the leaf springs hang from and have new, taller ones welded on by a professional welder. I have included a link to all of the hangers we carry for slipper spring suspension for you.
