How Does the Draw Tite Hitch Part # 75087 Attach to a 2003 Mercedes ML500
Question:
Hi there - I am a complete trailer novice and I need to tow an 1969 Airstream behind my 2003 ML500. The AS manual is very strict about only using a frame mounted hitch as opposed a bumper mounted hitch. Is this hitch classed as frame mounted or bumper mounted. Sorry if this is really obvious question!

The Draw Tite hitch part # 75087 has been confirmed to fit your 2003 Mercedes ML500, it attaches to the bumper support beam, which attaches directly to the frame. This hitch also includes support brackets to help brace the bumper beam as it attaches to the frame of your vehicle.
Typically a bumper hitch is one that attaches to a portion of the bumper that isn't supported by the frame at all. This hitch attaches to the bumper support and the support ends up getting braced and has been tested for safety. You should be fine, but you might want to confirm this with a Mercedes dealership as this kind of falls in a gray area.
I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
