Thule's 22-cubic-foot Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629907 will fit on most factory roof rack crossbars as well as round, square, aero and elliptical aftermarket bars. It will fit so long as the spread of these crossbars, when measured from the two bars' center points, is between 23-5/8-inches and 35-1/2-inches.

The other consideration for fitting a rooftop cargo box is clearance for the rear hatch to open. In order for the Sonic XXL to fit without interfering with full opening of your rear hatch you will need to have at least 54-3/4-inches from the center of the front crossbar to the seam where the roof and hatch meet. As long as you have this much or more distance between the front crossbar's center and the seam you will be able to fully open the hatch without it contacting the rear of the Sonic XXL.
The linked diagram illustrates this clearance measurement. I have also linked an installation video that will show you how this cargo box mounts to the vehicle.

You will want to take a look at your R350 owner's manual to confirm its roof weight bearing capacity. If not noted in your manual your local dealership will be able to tell you how much total weight the vehicle's roof can safely support. I say this because you'll want to ensure you do not exceed this limit.

Please note that you need to account for the weight of the empty cargo box itself since this too counts against the roof weight capacity. For example, if your manual says the R350's roof can handle 120-lbs, then from this you'll subtract the XXL's weight of 63-lbs. This means that you could then load a total cargo weight of about 57-lbs and still remain within the vehicle's capacity.

Many customers who use a rooftop cargo solution also choose a tire step like # HE4040 to give them easier access to the cargo box for loading and unloading. The Topline steps comes fully assembled, can handle 400-lbs and simply slips over a rear tire to provide that height advantage when you need it. It then folds up for easy storage inside the vehicle. Another very cost-effective option is the Telesteps folding step # TE97FR.
