Sounds like you have a hitch with a 1-1/4 inch opening as the only vehicles that have 1-1/2 inch openings are ATVs for the most part. It's easy to mis-measure them though. I attached an FAQ on hitch sizes for you to check out.
The problem with using a hitch adapter like you are interested in doing is it cuts the capacity of the hitch in half and adds movement to the setup. For more info on this check out the FAQ article I attached on this subject. For this the part # HTAD would work but you will need to verify that your hitch has enough capacity for your bikes and rack with it's capacity cut in half.
A better solution might be to upgrade your bike rack to one that will fit your hitch without the use of an adapter.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit your vehicle is the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This rack has a ton of positive reviews from our customers who have tried it. Check out the review video I attached for more info.
