Recommended Concealed Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2014 Ford Escape
Question:
I looked at the picture of the 2014 ford escape with the hitch installed and its not really hidden. Sticks out like a sore thumb! Do you make one were the hitch is actually hidden so only the receiver can be seen?

The most popular hitch for your 2014 Ford Escape is the Curt trailer hitch # C13186. It's a Class III trailer hitch with 2 inch receiver. The Curt cross tube trailer hitch # C13186 is more concealed than the Draw-Tite cross tube trailer hitch # 75758 you viewed. The reason is because on # C13186 the receiver opening is below the cross tube, whereas on the # 75758 the receiver opening is flush with the cross tube.
If you plan on doing any towing, I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It includes 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. And for trailer wiring you can use # 118566.
Please note the hands-free lift gate sensor areas will be limited to either side of the vehicle near the exhaust pipes.
Always consult the vehicle owners manual for the towing capacity of your specific model. Which ever is lower, the vehicle capacity or hitch capacity, is the rating you need to go by.
I included a few FAQ's and installation videos for you too.
