Replacement Strut/Hinge for a Thule Summit Cargo Box

They do not make this box any more but I need to know what I can use instead. I broke the strut in the front. It looks like the strut snaps in place without any other hardware. Please help, we love our Thule box and we have all kids of stickers on it. Thanks for your help! Old part number 14908

For your Thule Summit cargo box you can use replacement dual force strut # TH14936. Like you said, the original strut on the box is no longer made so you would need to use this newer one.

I spoke with my contact over at Thule and found that the original strut for the Weekender cargo boxes is no longer available. But I have good news. You can use replacement strut #TH14936 instead!

The part #TH14936 is designed for both sides of a cargo box and there isn't a left or right hand version of it.

The difference between the Thule hinges or struts #TH14936 and #TH14933 is the spring tension. Both of these hinges will work for your Sears X Cargo Sport 20 lid. However, the #TH14936 includes better springs.

The replacement hinge for the Thule Adventurer cargo box is #TH14936. This is just one hinge. You would want to replace both hinges for the best operation. I have included a couple of links to videos on this hinge for you.
