Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2014 Ford Fusion
Question:
Where in Savannah, GA can I get this installed

The installation of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 24897 is simple and if you are mechanically inclined should have no problem installing this hitch yourself on your 2014 Ford Fusion. The instructions are included and easy to follow. The # 24897 is a Class l hitch and has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
If you aren't comfortable installing it yourself, most local garages have all the equipment needed to install this hitch. Since there is no drilling involved and just a bit of trimming of the appearance panel on the vehicle, this would be an easy task for a mechanic with all the needed tools. I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch on a 2013 Fusion you can check out. This bike rack weighs less than 13 lbs and has a weight capacity of 80 lbs.
If you plan on towing I recommend the Sportframe Drawbar, part # 3594. This drawbar fits 1-1/4 inch receiver openings and provides a 4 inch rise from the top of the receiver tube.
For a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19256 and for a 2 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19258.
If you plan on towing and need trailer wiring I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118574. This plugs into the connection points behind the tail lights and after running the hot lead wire up to the battery on the Fusion will give you a 4-way connector at the rear of your vehicle.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
If you are planning on using the hitch for carrying bikes I recommend a bike carrier like the Kuat Beta, part # B202-114. This is a lightweight aluminum bike rack that folds flat allowing access to the rear cargo area.
If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance. I have attached a product review video for this adapter bar.
