Backup Camera Recommendation to See Behind 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I am looking for a camera. I have a 32 foot 5th wheel that I tow a small atv trailer behind it. Its hard to see or know whats going on behind the camper or if anything has flown off the trailer. I am looking for a camera that I can have a monitor in the truch that I can view the trailer behind my camper. I am thinking your camera part number 04928 would work. Can you give me any suggestions on the camera I might need to use. If I need to hard wire one in or use a wireless one. Thanks

The Swift Hitch camera, # 04928, would work but you would want to mount it at the top rear of the 5th wheel trailer in order to receive and maintain a signal. The problem with that is you have to manually turn the camera on so having it up high would make doing so difficult.

I recommend version # SH03D which is a 2 camera system but it comes with an antenna so that the signal will be stronger to the in-cab monitor. That way you can mount the camera in an easy to reach place and not worry about obstructions.

Also tandem towing, towing a trailer behind another trailer, is illegal in many places so you will want to check ahead of time before you go so that you are not hit with a ticket!
