Will Curt Trailer Hitch Fit 1998 Ford Escort Wagon

Question:

Thank you for the reply. What roof racks would work? I already have factory cross bars on the vehicle. Anything from Thule or Yakima?

The Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11105, is designed to fit 1991 through 1997 Ford Escort Wagons and 1998 through 2001 Ford Escort Sedans.

Unfortunately, this hitch is not a fit for your 1998 Escort Wagon. We do not have a trailer hitch that will work with your vehicle.

If you are looking to carry bikes or possibly cargo on your Escort, we do offer roof racks and several carriers that would work for you.

Since you have factory crossbars on your Escort

We do have some racks that may be just what you are looking for. If you are looking for a bike carrier I recommend the Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Carrier, part # Y02098. This will work with round, square, or most factory crossbars and has an easy to use sliding wheel tray. This carrier will also fit most disc brakes and includes a ratcheting strap to secure the bike to the carrier. Another bike carrier I like is the Thule UpRide, part # TH599000. This carrier holds your bike in place by the wheels and not the frame. This bike carrier mounts to most roof-rack systems with universal hardware. If you are looking for a cargo basket to fit on your crossbars, I recommend the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket, part # Y07070. This basket measures 44 inches long x 39 inches wide x 6-1/2 inches tall, and has a weight capacity of 140 lbs. I have attached links to some product review videos for these items you can check out. You will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you do not exceed the roof weight capacity of your Escort.
