Trailer Hitch for a 2008 Honda Fit Sport to Use a Bike Carrier with 2 Inch Shank
Question:
I have a 2008 Honda Fit Sport and recently purchased a Thule bike rack that requires a 2inch receiver. On your site the ones available are only 1 1/8.inch Where would I find one?

All of the trailer hitches for the 2008 Honda Fit are Class I hitches with 1-1/4 inch receivers. This is a reflection of the ability of the vehicle; it isn't designed to tow or carry heavy loads so higher Class hitches are not made for it.
The only way to carry the bike rack would be to use a trailer hitch # 24776 and an adapter, # HTAD. The adapter will convert the 1-1/4 inch receiver to a 2 inch. However, using an adapter reduces the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. So on your Fit the tongue weight capacity would be 100 pounds when using the adapter.
The combined weight of the bike rack and the bikes cannot exceed 100 pounds. Also, on Class I hitches, you are limited to carrying 2 bikes maximum.
