Installing an Aftermarket Brake Controller in 2008 Chevy Tahoe with an Integrated Brake Controller
Question:
my wiring harness under the dash for the trailer brakes, has the hot, ground, and blue wire to go back to the factory 7 way, but does not have the red, for brake light switch, all it has is the blue-white chmsl wire, and it is hot all the time, which makes the brake control on all the time, is there something that needs to be unhooked, because this model had the option of the gm factory installed trailer brake control?

Under the dash of your 2008 Chevy Tahoe there should also be a light blue/white wire in the brake controller install wiring harness that carries the stop light circuit.
If you cannot track down this circuit then you can check the wiring that leads to the factory brake controller. One of the wires running to it should be the stop light circuit.
Check out the FAQ article I attached to the right as well.
