Trailer Wiring Harness for a 1999 Honda Civic LX Sedan
Question:
Trying to figure out the correct trailer harness kit, curt website and all other websites say kit 56175 is correct for the 1999 honda civic. But your website is mentioning curt C59236 w/power. Will they both work? Just a matter of if I want to run the power cable, or not?

Helpful Expert Reply:
You could use trailer wiring harness # C59236 or # C56175. The only difference is that converter # C59236 is powered meaning it requires a direct connection to the vehicle battery to power the trailer lights.
This adds another level of circuit protection between the trailer wiring and the sensitive wiring on your 1999 Honda Civic sedan. Running the power cable just takes time. I have included a link to a help article I wrote with tips on routing the power wire.
