Differences in Brake Controller Install on 2003 Silverado 1500 and 2003 Silverado 2500 Diesel

Question:

Is there any difference between a 2003 1500 pick up and 2003 2500 HD diesel with dual batteries as far as wiring goes for the brake controller?

The brake controller installation procedure for both vehicles would be identical. You'll need a brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3015-P, which will allow the controller to plug into the junction box behind the brake pedal as shown in the FAQ article I've linked you to.

As long as both trucks had the factory 7-way, the installation should be a plug-and-play procedure. Just to be sure, you'll want to check the power distribution box under the hood to ensure that the connections and fuses shown in the FAQ are complete and in place.
