Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a strap for truck and trailer winches. This heavy duty winch strap feeds into a tie down winch on your flatbed truck or trailer to help you secure heavy loads. It is for use with fixed or sliding winches, winches are sold separately. On this end, we have the sewn eye loop. This lets you lash or cinch the strap for a strong hold. You could also attach a grab hook, screw shackle, or other hardware to the loop for versatile securing of the strap, so you've got plenty of options with the sewn eye loop design. I do want to point out that it has another layer of protection right here that's sewn into the strap, which is really we're the pressure connection point is.
So whatever this is looped around or cinched around or whatever you have this placed into, like a hook or a D-shackle or anything like that, that's where a lot of that force is going to be so they took that into consideration and they sewn in another level of protection, or a layer of protection to protect the actual winch strap. So it's a nice design of the unit. We're looking at a durable polyester webbing, nice heavy duty stitching, it meets WSTA recommendations. This strap measures four inches wide by 30 feet long, and it has a really nice just overall feel to it. It's bright yellow in color, so it's highly visible. When it comes to the safe working load moment, we're looking at 5,400 pounds, and just always keep in mind that tie down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit.
So the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load moment of the straps being used. That's going to do it for today's look at the strap for a truck and trailer winch.
